What is Bitcoin Purity?
Bitcoin Purity (BTC1) is an open-source, SHA256d Proof-of-Work network that emerged from a Bitcoin hard fork on August 19, 2026, at block height 961,637.
The project aims to preserve Bitcoin’s original vision of peer-to-peer electronic cash by permanently enforcing Reduced Data (BIP110/RDTS) consensus rules, prioritizing monetary transactions over arbitrary data storage.
BTC1 maintains Bitcoin’s historical blockchain continuity, SHA256d mining algorithm, address formats and transaction compatibility. It introduces ASERT difficulty adjustment with a 24-hour half-life while retaining the original 10-minute target block interval.
The project is based on Bitcoin Knots and supports existing SHA-256 ASIC mining hardware, including home-mining devices such as Bitaxe and NerdQaxe.
Bitcoin Purity is supported by a growing community focused on decentralization, independent mining pools, open-source development and broader exchange accessibility.
BTC1 is currently traded on NestEx and NeoxEX. The community has also successfully funded an upcoming listing on NonKYC.
