What is HTTPBASE20?
HTTPBASE20 originated as a token created on the Base network through an x402 payment call executed via bankrbot, an on-chain agent. This method of creation reflects the project's central theme: the revival of HTTP status code 402, "Payment Required," which was reserved in the original HTTP specification but left unused. Rather than being deployed through a conventional interface, the token was brought into existence through a machine-payable HTTP request, making its own creation a demonstration of the x402 protocol on Base. Following its launch, the project expanded into a launchpad that allows holders to deploy their own B20-standard tokens after an x402 payment, accessible both through a web interface and programmatically through on-chain agents. The token contract address ends in "cc0," consistent with the project's permissionless, public-domain orientation.
