What is YELLOW?
Yellow is a Web3 infrastructure ecosystem designed to enable decentralized clearing, settlement, and cross-chain financial coordination. It is built around a Layer-3 architecture that combines Ethereum-based settlement with off-chain state-channel execution to support real-time, non-custodial transaction processing.
About YELLOW Token:
YELLOW operates as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. The YELLOW token is the native utility and economic coordination asset of Yellow, a decentralized settlement and communication layer. Its specific utilities include:
- Payment of Network Fees: Users and applications pay settlement and routing fees in YELLOW. While fees can be paid in any currency, paying directly in YELLOW offers a free discount.
- Staking & Access Control: Staking is required to activate operational roles, such as running a “Clearnode” (broker/trading node), providing liquidity routing services, or deploying applications in the Yellow App Store. It acts as a mechanism for access rights and incentive alignment.
- Governance: Token holders who stake YELLOW gain voting rights on critical network decisions, including parameter adjustments, ecosystem funding, and Strategic Reserve usage.
- Strategic Reserve Support: Protocol fees are collected and routed to a Strategic Reserve, which supports long-term price stability and ecosystem expansion.
