What is Neptune?
Neptune - a quantum-safe, community run, privacy-first Layer-1 blockchain combining zk-STARKs and PoW to deliver a private, programmable ecosystem built for global scale.
Detailed Project Description (Cryptoasset)*
Neptune: A Quantum-Safe, Privacy-Focused Layer-1 Blockchain
Neptune is a Layer-1 blockchain protocol built to deliver a private, quantum-resistant, and scalable foundation for decentralized digital cash, private DeFi, and censorship-resistant applications.
Key Features:
zk-STARKs + Mutator Sets: At the core, Neptune leverages zk-STARK zero-knowledge proofs combined with Mutator Sets to ensure every transaction and contract executes with full confidentiality; no metadata leakage, no tracing, and no exposed addresses or transaction links.
Post-Quantum Security: All cryptographic components are built with quantum resistance in mind, aiming to secure the blockchain even against future quantum-enabled adversaries.
Programmable Smart Contracts via Triton VM: Neptune includes the Triton Virtual Machine, which supports private computation and smart contracts under the zk-proof framework, enabling developers to build dApps that preserve end-user privacy.
Proof-of-Work Consensus & Controlled Emission: The protocol uses a traditional Proof-of-Work consensus with a block time of 5 minutes. Its emission model is carefully structured: starting at 6.8 coins per block, then following a three-phase schedule over 72 “generations,” gradually reducing to a stable 1-coin per block tail emission, designed for predictable supply growth and long-term network stability.
Open-Source, Fair Launch, Community-Governed: Neptune is fully decentralized and community-driven. There was no private sale or significant pre-allocation, all new coins (beyond any legacy migration) are introduced through public mining, and development is open-source.
Neptune aims to provide a future-proof foundation for private, secure, and scalable blockchain applications, giving users and developers a platform where privacy, quantum-resistance, and programmable decentralization are built in from the ground up.
