What is Flow?
Dapper Labs (FLOW) is a decentralized blockchain-based digital collectibles and non-fungible token (NFT) provider behind several big name NFT marketplace projects including CryptoKitties, Flow, UFC and NBA Top Shot fan engagement platforms powered by Flow Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain. NBA Top Shot is a blockchain-based digital collectibles platform allowing sports fans to own a part of their favorite game through buying, selling, and trading video highlights called "moments" as NFTs on the NBA Top Shot marketplace using the FLOW token. FLOW token provides voting rights for on-chain governance allowing DAO members to signal decisions for the protocol. NBA Top Shot has gained massive popularity since launch; it is the #1 decentralized application (dApp) in the world by some measures with 3M+ marketplace transactions and over $500M in sales. In May 2021, Dapper Labs was sued by the SEC for selling NBA Top Shot Moments (NFTs) as unregistered securities after the collectibles gained significant value for collectors.
