What is Chromia?
Chroma (CHR) is the platform utility token of Chromia blockchain integrated P2P network referred to as a Relational Blockchain, a combination of a relational database and a blockchain. Chromia offers users a highly scalable decentralized application (dApp) development environment powered by its distributed network of node operators who provide Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus to validate transactions using a Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) algorithm. Each blockchain within Chromia is associated with a subset of validator nodes with each node using a relational database. Chromia allows developers to issue CHR-backed tokens to integrate with decentralized applications, with many use cases ranging from finance, gaming, real estate, insurance, healthcare, etc. Investors may be compensated in ERC-20 CHR token through various profit-sharing contracts. In 2021 Chromia partnered with the decentralized NFT gaming platform My Neighbor Alice, providing a dedicated node to accomplish relational blockchain validation within the My Neighbor Alice NFT digital landscape.
