What is Orchid?
Orchid Protocol is a crypto powered and open source decentralized VPN (Virtual Private Network) platform allowing users to route a single internet connection through multiple providers and create private encrypted networks using public internet connections to browse the internet privately and securely. To gain access to the VPN, users configure an Orchid circuit by funding their Orchid account with ERC-20 utility token OXT. Once funded Orchid Network selects a node using a linear stake-weighted algorithm to serve as the user's VPN and pays for bandwidth using a continuous stream of tiny OXT nanopayments. Orchid VPN offers privacy from websites viewing a user's real IP address, from the internet service provider (ISP) viewing a user's browsing history, and provides open access to ISP level firewall restricted content and region specific content. To avoid node IP detection Orchid supports advanced functionality allowing users to configure multi-hop routes by stringing together several Orchid nodes into a multi-hop circuit.
