What is Osmosis?
OSMO is the native rewards and governance token for Osmosis, a decentralized peer-to-peer blockchain network and automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange (DEX) platform built on Cosmos SDK, allowing users to create liquidity pools and AMMs, provide LP to existing pools to earn yield farming rewards, and trade between Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol enabled token assets. OSMO stakeholders can vote on plans to implement new features to the protocol, such as front-running protection, validator-backed oracles and other proposals.
